I found Michael Hyatt’s blog page by chance. I don’t really remember how I found the page, but I think it’s about one of those time when I want to do a research on how to create a blog. I always think that it will take a long time to make even one. Which I still think it is true. But I guess it’s taking a long time, for my case, is because I don’t know what I want to write and I don’t have a guide to prepare a blog.

Please read the blog post your self at Michael Hyatt’s page to get more information. For this post, I want to share and write down the lesson that I learnt:
I can say that I have read a lot information or suggestions on how to prepare a blog. For me this blog provide better anatomy of effective blog posts. Most of the time I have used too much time to write and then re-write over and over again. It really wasting a lot of time. And I know usually I just start to write without specific goals in mind, and I just write. in the middle of the blog, I re-read from the beginning and then I feel that I need to remove some parts, and add some more content. it takes longer time and makes me desperate on the completion. From Michael, I learn 3 things that are required to prepare a blog or writing:
1. Introduction
a. the most important introduction of all is the title. Hyatt mentioned that when you set a compelling title, it will gave you clear guidance on what to write
b. the second important thing is the lead paragraph. Do you still remember what your English teacher told you? the lead paragraph will give something like skeleton of the blog itself so that your reader will be able to grab a summary of what you’re trying to convey. And if it’s something that they are interested, they will read on
c. a picture speaks a thousand words. Put a relevant picture so that the audience can get a glimpse of idea
2. Content
a. scan-able – Basically it’s the main body of the blog. Put it in clear or the term that Hyatt used is scan-able. I’m going to have quite a hard time on this, but basically put it in point form so that the reader can understand easily.
b. stories – Everybody loves stories. People will find it more engaging when you are telling the example from your story. That is the one that make the blog unique.
3. Closing
This is true and this is the reason why I like Michael Hyatt’s blog, which is the discussion question. It engage the audience. even when I have never contribute to his question so far, I like to read other people’s opinion and learn from their experience.

This is a (quite) short and sweet blog about the template for the blog. hopefully I can use and practice this, so that I can share interesting blog and useful for my audience. I hope that I can write faster and share consistently through this blog.

Please share me your thoughts or experiences in writing blog. How do you prepare your blog? and How long does it take to complete a blog post?

have a great day ahead
